Interview Strategy
They have questions for you. You should have some for them too.
Getting the interview is one thing. Walking into it prepared is another.
Yes, you need to be ready to talk about yourself, your experience, and why you're interested in the position. But an interview isn't just your opportunity to convince somebody to hire you.
You need to be figuring some things out too.
Before our session, you'll send me the position you're interviewing for so I can take a look at the role and do some homework of my own.
Then we'll get you ready.
We'll talk through the interview, what you should be prepared for, and how to approach it without feeling like you need to memorize a perfect answer to every question they could possibly throw at you.
But we're also going to make sure you're ready for the part where they ask:
“Do you have any questions for us?”
Because the answer should not be no.
I'll give you questions specifically built around the position you're interviewing for, along with the questions I think you should have in your back pocket regardless of the job.
We'll talk through what you're asking, why you're asking it, and what you should be listening for in the answer.
Because you're not just trying to get a job.
You're trying to figure out if you actually want this one.
What your dollars get you:
One-on-one interview preparation session
Review of the specific position you're interviewing for before our session
Preparation for how to approach the interview and present yourself confidently
Guidance on talking about your experience without relying on memorized answers
Custom questions for you to ask based on the specific position
My core questions you can use in just about any interview
Guidance on when and how to work your questions naturally into the conversation
Discussion of what to pay attention to in the employer's answers
A question set you can keep and use to prepare for future interviews
They already decided you're worth talking to. Now let's make sure you're ready for the conversation.
